We are here again with the second issue of 2019. There are three research articles on this issue. The first article, written by Ali Alipour and Marjan Fayyazi, based on the survey data collected from 375 employees working in the branches of an Iranian bank, investigates the relationship between emotional intelligence and relational social capital. The second article, whose authors are Hilal Tuğçe Lapçın ve Deniz Taşçı, using analytical hierarchy process method, seeks to answer why private airport terminal operators take part in joint ventures. The third article, authored by Ali Osman Uymaz, is on the Turkish adaptation of the negative and positive reciprocity norm scale developed by Eisenberger, Lynch, Aselage, and Rohdieck (2004). Ali Osman Uymaz, in his article, based on the results of a research study conducted on 380 adult individuals, evaluates to what extent the Turkish adaptation of the negative and positive reciprocity norm scale is valid and reliable.

Emotional Intelligence as an Antecedent of Relational Social CapitalBu çalışma duygusal zekâ (DZ) ve ilişkisel sosyal sermaye arasındaki ilişkileri incelemektedir.
DZ, kişilerarası ve sosyal ilişkilerin kalitesini kolaylaştıran ve destekleyen bir sosyal yetkinlik olarak tanımlanırken, ilişkisel sosyal sermaye de yüksek-
kaliteli kişilerarası ilişkileri şekillendiren güven, özdeşleşme ve yükümlülük
veya bağlılık gibi bireysel nitelik ve olanakları ifade eden iyi bilinen bir kavramdır.
Bununla birlikte, bugüne kadar hiçbir çalışma, ilişkisel sosyal sermayenin bireylerin
sosyal yetkinliğinin bir bileşeni olarak duygusal zekâ tarafından nasıl tahmin
etkilenebileceğini görgül olarak incelememiştir. Temel iddiamız; DZ’nın dört ana
boyutu olan öz-farkındalık, öz-yönetim, sosyal farkındalık ve ilişki yönetiminin çalışanlar
arasında ilişkisel sosyal sermaye düzeyini artıracağıdır. Bir İran bankasının
rastgele seçilen 64 şubesinin 375 çalışanıyla yapılan anket verilerine ilişkin yapısal
eşitlik modelleme analizimiz, öz-yönetim ve ilişki yönetimi boyutlarının ilişkisel
sosyal sermaye ile önemli ölçüde ilişkili olmasına rağmen, öz farkındalık ve sosyal
farkındalığın bu kavramla ilişkisinin anlamlı düzeyde olmadığını göstermektedir.

Reasons for Organizations to Join Joint Ventures: The Case of Airport Terminal OperatorsIt becomes a very difficult process for businesses to survive with their assets and
abilities and to provide a sustainable competitive advantage. Although many
businesses prefer strategic alliances and joint venture to be successful in this
process, the motives why businesses specifically adopt these strategies may differ
according to industries. The air transportation industry is also replaced among
the industries that alliances and joint venture strategies are extensively applied.
In this study, the basic motivations in forming joint ventures of the private
airport terminal operators in Turkey were investigated. Analytical hierarchy
process, which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, was used
in determining and prioritizing these motivations. It was found that the most
important motivation is the sharing of new processes and technologies.

“An Eye for an Eye”: Turkish Adaptation of the Negative and Positive Reciprocity Norm ScaleThe aim of this study is the Turkish adaptation of the Negative and Positive
Reciprocity Norm Scale which has been developed by Eisenberger et al. (2004),
and to test its validity and reliability analysis. The sample of the study consisted
of 380 adult individuals. The adaptation of the scale to Turkish consists of
translation-back translation, taking expert opinions, creating the scale, and testretest
stages. The Scale has been tested with the content validity index for the
scale validity; confirmatory factor analysis for construct validity; item analyses
to test the scale reliability; Cronbach’s alpha analysis for internal consistency of
the total scale and factors; dependent samples t-test to compare the test-retest
scores for time invariance; and intraclass correlation coefficient. The content
validity of the Turkish version of the scale is 0,97. According to the confirmatory
factor analysis, the 7th item has been removed from the analysis, and validity
and reliability analyses have been performed with 23 items. The Cronbach’s alpha
value of the scale is 0,841. For the negative reciprocity norm’s Cronbach’s alpha
value is 0,882; for the positive reciprocity norm, it is 0,823.
